 We wanted to share the incredible wedding of Alyson & Chris with you. The details in the decor are amazing! I have to say it is one of my favorite designs, in that cotton was used throughout the event, even the bouquets! The best surprise was for the groom...turkey cake pops! Yes, instead of a grooms cake Alyson had Sugarlillys Sweet Shop (Bentley's in house baker) create a most unique treat for her sweetie, who is an avid turkey hunter.

Linda & Alan

 I must say that I quite enjoyed myself on this one. I knew right away when meeting Linda that we were going to have a great time planning her wedding...and we did! Thank to Kim Carmichael Photography for the spectacular shots, as usual. I have a feeling I will be adding more as they come in.

Linda's cake was baked in our in house bakery, Sugarlilly Sweet Shop. It tasted as good as it looked!

 

Gulf Talent Services made sure the guests were on the dance floor all night long.

 

Cookies with shots of milk were passed on silver trays as a late night snack.

Canine Carnival

Laissez bon temps rollover with Rover at Alaqua Animal Refuge’s Fourth Annual Canine Carnival, to be held on Saturday, March 26 at Gulf Place in Santa Rosa Beach.

The Mardi Gras-themed, pet-centric outdoor party will feature a parade of activities for pups and the people who love them, including games for kids and canines, local vendor booths, food, a raffle, silent auction, agility demonstrations and the ever-popular dachshund races.

“Our focus at Alaqua Animal Refuge is to save the lives of abused, homeless and neglected animals, and while this is a serious mission, we still find time every year to celebrate the joy of pet companionship with our Canine Carnival,” said Laurie Hood, president and founder of Alaqua Animal Refuge. “This special day, with its Mardi Gras theme and more activities then ever, is about fun for the entire family, including dogs!”

Sponsors for the 2011 Canine Carnival include Bentley’s on the Bay, Coastal Builders of Northwest Florida, Gigi’s Fabulous Kids Fashions and Toys, Gulf Place, Kappy the Clown and Qantum Radio Stations with guest emcee Aimee Shaffer. Well hello there, my name is Samantha and I will be designing & baking up dream cakes for all our Bentley & Cabana Blue brides. I am an up beat, fun loving person who always strives to enjoy life to the fullest. I graduated from Johnson and Wales University with a bachelor degree in Baking and Pastry Arts and spent a semester taking pastry courses at Apicius International School of Hospitality in Florence, Italy. I certainly enjoy every facet of the culinary world, but more importantly find true joy in bringing others dreams to life in the form of edible art work. I am much more than just educated in the world of desserts: I have a true passion for it. I find that with a handful of acquired skills, a sprinkle of creativity, and a dash of perfectionism, I can bake up a master piece that will complete the ambiance of your big day.

Hot Diggity Dog

 

 Samantha & Derek surprised their guests when at the end of the evening they invited them out front for.....hot dogs! Yes, you heard me right, an amazing hot dog stand by Hometown Dogs was ready to grill up tasty dogs for guests. To continue Samantha & Derek's love for "dogs" check out their fur babies, Miss & Spike, that were included in the wedding ceremony.

Falling in love with a Fall wedding

With the falling sun splashing colors of orange and pink onto the sandy beachfront of the bay Logan & Cory sealed the deal with a kiss. Fall weddings at the bay have a certain excitement to them, the air has cooled ever so slightly and the gentle breeze awakens your senses. Add a beautiful couple, both inside and out, and you have the recipe for a spectacular night! Rich hues and natural earth tones were used to perfection by  Brian @ Myrtie Blue for the ceremony site and reception.

Timing is everything! The sunset afterglow made for a spectacular backdrop as Logan & Cory sealed the deal with a kiss.

 
Guests were asked to write well wishes and advice on river stones which the newlyweds planned on putting in their garden.
